Home & Creature Comforts - Terms & Conditions
1. Booking
#1.1 All new clients require an in-home consultation at a cost of £10 prior to booking confirmation where a mileage charge of 30p per mile will also be applied.
#1.2 All Bookings are confirmed by payment and acceptance of a 25% non-refundable booking fee due within 7 days of booking confirmation.
#1.3 The balance is payable 14 days prior to the agreed start date
#1.4 Bank Holiday days are charged at double rate.
#1.5 Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions, Home and Creature Comforts reserves the right not to proceed with the booking.
2. Cancellations
#2.1 In the event of cancellations that are notified to Home and Creature Comforts 14 days prior to the start of the booking period, all fees less the non-refundable deposit, will be returned.
#2.2 Bookings that are cancelled between 14 days and 48 hours before the start date of the booking, will require 50% payment for services.
#2.3 Bookings cancelled within 48 hours of start date will be payable in full.
#2.4 If for any reason, Home and Creature Comforts cannot provide the service agreed, all fees will be fully refunded and as much notice as possible will be given.
3. Aggressive Animals
#3.1 Home and Creature Comforts are unable to accept aggressive animals.
#3.2 The client agrees that on booking that their pet(s) to have not shown aggression or caused harm, or threatening behaviour to any individual and/or any pet(s), and the client agrees to contact Home and Creature Comforts as soon as possible if any of these behavioural changes become apparent.
#3.3 The client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc) if their pet(s) should bite another animal whilst under the care of the sitter.
#3.4 Any dog demonstrating uncontrollable or dangerous behaviour will be removed to the emergency contact at the owner’s expense with an additional transfer fee of £50. The service will be terminated with immediate effect and no refund of any payment(s) will be made.
4. Unforeseen Purchases
#4.1 In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the client – i.e., pet food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that contribute to the health and wellbeing of the pet(s), the sitter will purchase these, retain a receipt and the pet owner will be responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.
5. Keys
#5.1 The sitter will require the house keys 24 hours prior to the start date, unless the client is present before departure.
#5.2 The sitter will return the keys to the client at the end of the booking or leave them in accordance with pre-arranged, written agreements.
6. Updates
#6.1 The client agrees to inform Home and Creature Comforts of any changes, including, but not limited to:-
7. Insurance
#7.1 It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the property, its contents, and pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of the booking
8. Medication and Health
#8.1 The sitter will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.
#8.2 The client must inform Home and Creature Comforts of any anxiety issues with their pet(s) and how to manage them prior to the commencement of the booking.
#8.3 If the sitter is bitten or exposed to any disease or ailment received from the clients pet(s) the client will be responsible for all costs and damages, including loss of earnings that may be incurred as a result.
#8.4 Pets must be clean and free of ticks, fleas, worms or any form of active contagious illness.
9. Pet Emergencies
#9.1 The client agree(s) to allow Home and Creature Comforts to make any decisions regarding the pet’s health and welfare, following the advice of the client’s provided veterinary surgeon.
#9.2 The client agree(s) to pay any vet bills that may be incurred.
#9.3 The client agrees that in the event their pet attacks, or is involved in a fight with another pet (and/or person), causing injury to that pet (and/or person), they will be responsible for any losses incurred as a result, including but not limited to, payment of veterinary fees in respect of injuries to another animal caused by their pet.
10. Pet Waste
#10.1 The sitter will properly dispose of the client’s pet(s) waste. It is the client’s responsibility to provide appropriate products for this purpose.
11. Collars and Leads
#11.1 The client must ensure their pet is microchipped and has secure collars with ID tags.
#11.2 All dogs will be walked on leads at all times unless prior written consent has been given.
#11.3 Where a client requests that dogs are exercised off lead, Home and Creature Comforts holds no liability for the dog going missing or injuring other dogs / humans.
12. Fences and Cat Flaps
#12.1 Home and Creature Comforts does not accept any responsibility or liability for any client’s animals that escape or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise, when instructed to leave the clients animals in a fenced area. This includes electronic, wood, metal or any other type of fence, or in premises that contains an unlocked cat flap.
13. House Cleanliness
#13.1 The sitter will clean up after the client’s pets to the best of their ability.
#13.2 The sitter is not responsible for any damage to the property that has been created by the client’s pet(s).
#13.3 It is the client’s responsibility to provide plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels and bin bags for the sitters use for the duration of the booking.
14. Household Emergencies
#14.1 It is the client’s responsibility to detail placement of stop cock and electricity board to Home and Creature Comforts prior to the booking taking place.
#14.2 In the event of a household emergency, the client’s emergency contact will be contacted to arrange any required remedial work prior to the work being carried out.
15. Changes To Return Date
#15.1 Additional charges will apply on top of daily rates for any delays in client return.
16. Additional Information
#16.1 The sitter will provide their own food, bed linen and towels required for the duration of the booking unless otherwise agreed.
#16.2 The client agrees that the sitter may use the facilities at the property and that the client will provide suitable sleeping and other facilities throughout the duration of the booking. Examples include, but is not limited to, a WIFI connection, television, heating, toilet and shower facilities, fridge, washing machine (to be used only for client's own washing, not the sitters), oven, microwave, and television).
17. Accompanying Visitors
#17.1 The sitter may have their partner accompany them during the assignment. This will be agreed with the client in advance.

- your pet’s care needs, including your pet coming into season, any behaviour / dietary changes etc.
